Meet Recap:

MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/11/06)-- Concordia used the depth of their team to swim away with their second consecutive dual meet victory on Saturday against Hamline in the Memorial Auditorium Pool. The Cobbers won only six events but had all three swimmers place in every event and earned a 138-99 win over the Pipers.

During the meet, four different Cobber swimmers set career-best marks and freshman Lauren Trudeau captured both sections of the 1-meter diving event for the second consecutive meet.

The Cobbers started the meet, by perhaps winning the most important event of the whole meet. The CC 400-yard medley relay team of Erin Maetzold, Karin Koenig, Dani Ree and Katie Lee set Concordia off on the right foot by winning the first event of the meet in a time of 4:23.62, less than a second faster than the Pipers' relay quartet.

During the course of the meet, the most significant races were won by Cobbers and also had Concordia swimmers in the top three. Lee won in the 200 freestyle, Shaina Fossum captured the 500 freestyle, Koenig, Chelsea Volna and Adrienne Moss went 1-2-3 in the 100-yard breaststroke and Ree, Lee and Annie Jesperson accomplished the same feat in the 100-yard butterfly.

The quartet of career-best times included Kelly Kufahl in the 100-yard backstroke portion of the 400-yard medley relay (1:21.64) Jesperson in the 100-yard butterfly (1:11.26), Volna in the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.55) and Amanda Rolik in the 100-yard freestyle during her leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay (1:03.28).

Concordia will hit the road for a pair of meets next weekend. The Cobbers will face St. Thomas in a dual meet on Friday, Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. in St. Paul. They will stay in St. Paul to compete at the Macalester Invite on Saturday, Nov. 18.
