Gameday Game Recap:

MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/10/07)-- A night after scoring three goals in the third period, Concordia pulled a 180-degree turn as they gave up two goals and were outshot 17-1 in the final frame by St. Norbert and fell 3-1. The game was tied heading into the third period before the Green Knights were able to pull away in the final 20 minutes of play.

The loss is the third straight for the Cobbers after opening the season with a win at UW-Eau Claire. Concordia is now 1-3-0 on the year. St. Norbert ends their brief one-game losing skid and improves to 3-1-0 on the season.

The two teams played even through the first two periods with each squad getting a goal in the second period. St. Norbert go on the board first at the 9:30 mark when Cory Harder scored an even strength goal. The Cobbers responded with a goal just before the second intermission. Michael Weiss scored his first collegiate goal at 19:46. Ryan Clukey and Alec Holen were credited with the assists.

The decisive third period turned ugly for the Cobbers within the first two minutes of play. CC was whistled for a delay of game penalty at 1:15 of the stanza and on the ensuing power play. St. Norbert scored the eventual game-winning goal. Matt Boyd scored his third goal of the year at 1:51 to give the Green Knights a 2-1 lead. The game would stay that way until the 14:11 mark when Joe Bitz scored the second power play goal of the period to give St. Norbert the two-goal cushion.

The final scoresheet had the Green Knights outshooting Concordia 39-15, which included a 17-1 margin in the third period alone.  CC goalie Jeremy Boniface made 36 saves and had his season record fall to 1-2-0. St. Norbert goalie Blake Bashor stopped 14 shots to pick up his second win of the year.

Concordia will have a two-week break before they play at UM-Crookston on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 7:30 p.m.
