Game Recap: (recap courtesy of UW-Stout SID)

MENOMONIE, Wis. (1/09/07)--Fans that got stuck at the concession stand to start the second period missed an offensive fireworks by both teams.

No.5-ranked UW-Stout and Concordia-Moorhead combined for five goals over the first three minutes of the second period, but the Blue Devils scored four of them and went on to a 9-3 win over the Cobbers Tuesday at the Dunn County Ice Center.

The Blue Devils (12-1-2) set a school record for fastest four goals as they racked up four goals in 2-minutes, 11-seconds. Paul Henderson (Fr, Menomonie) got the fireworks started 17 seconds into the period. Scott Motz (Fr, Lake Elmo, Minn) scored 23 seconds later and Nick Klaren (So, North St. Paul, Minn) scored less than a minute later to push Stout up 5-1.

Concordia got into the scoring parade only 37 seconds later when Knut Bitustoeyl scored. Stout's Andrew Stearns (Sr, Wadena, Minn) put the finishes touches on the explosion - but not the second period scoring - when he scored 2-minutes, 28-seconds into the period and Stout had a 6-2 lead.

Jake Erickson (Jr, Rochester, Minn) scored with seven minutes left in the period for Stout and Concordia's Alec Holen scored late in the period to pull the curtain on a seven goal period.

Luke Schroeder (Jr, Minneapolis, Minn) scored for the Blue Devils midway through the third period to give Stout an 8-3 lead. Erickson scored his second goal of the game late in the game to close out the scoring.

The fifth ranked Blue Devils opened the scoring for the game when Jeff Wheeler (So, Bainbridge, Wash) scored unassisted six minutes into the game. Holen knotted the game for Concordia with his first goal of the evening midway through the first period when he wrapped around the back of the net. Stout recaptured the lead with a minute left in the period when Derek Hanson (Fr, Bemidji, Minn) scored.
