Bethel overcame a spurt of 3-point field goals by the Cobbers in the second half and came away with the 18-point win. The loss snaps Concordia's one-game win streak and drops their conference record to 5-13. The Cobbers are now mathematically eliminated from the MIAC playoffs. Concordia's overall record falls to 6-16 on the year. The Royals continue their quest for the postseason as they even their conference record at 9-9. They are currently tied with Hamline for fifth place in the MIAC. Bethel pushes their overall record 14-9. The Cobbers were led by the outside/inside team of Brock Citterman and Jason Miller. Citterman knocked down four 3-point field goals and finished with a game-high 24 points. Miller shot 53.8% from the field and finished with 17 points and hauled in a game-high eight rebounds. Bethel had four players score at least 12 points. Charles Meadowcraft scored a team-high 15 points. Steve Strom had 14 points to go along with five assists and a team-high seven rebounds. Trent Perry had 12 points and five assists, while Matt Fredrickson came off the bench to score 13 points. Fredrickson was part of the Bethel reserve squad that outscored the Cobber bench 26-11. Concordia controlled the first nine minutes of the game, taking a four-point lead twice during the opening segment. Bethel finally found their offensive stroke midway through the opening half and started to score at a regular rate. The Royals overtook Concordia at the 10:50 mark and never trailed from that point on. Bethel went on a 12-0 run in the middle part of the period to come from behind by one and take a 28-17 lead with 6:48 to go in the half. Citterman hit a shot from behind the arc at the end of the first half to cut the lead to 11 at 41-30. The 11-point deficit would be as close as the Cobbers would come in the final 20 minutes. Every time Concordia tried to make a run and cut the margin to under 10 points, Bethel was able to come up with a couple of key baskets. Concordia will finish the season by playing at St. Thomas on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 8:00pm and then return home to host Hamline on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 3:15pm.
