The Cobbers entered the game 1-3 in the last four games after losing pre-season All-American Keith Eckhoff. The odds were ripe for another Tommie blowout but something happened on the way to another easy victory, Concordia played like a team ready to make a run towards the playoffs in the second half of the MIAC season. The Cobbers continually frustrated the Tommies on the offensive end and were able to get close looks at the basket on their own offensive end. In the end, St. Thomas was able to make clutch 3-point shots down the stretch and escape with a 69-63 victory. The loss drops Concordia's record in the MIAC to 4-5 and into a three-way tie for sixth place. The Cobbers are now 5-8 overall. The Tommies win for the ninth time in ten attempts in league play and improve to 12-3 overall. Cobber sophomore post Luke Linz had one of his most impressive games of his career. He finished with a game-high 20 points and was the most dominant player in the game for the entire 40 minutes. He also finished with five rebounds and three assists to go along with three blocks. Fellow frontline mate Jason Miller had 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Brock Citterman came off the bench to knock down a trio of 3-point shots and finished with 15 points. Mike Keating led the Tommie outside attack. He was 3-of-5 from behind the arc and finished with 15 points. Point guard also added 15 points and went 2-of-5 from from long range. Isaac Rosefelt, the leading conference for the conference MVP, was held scoreless in the second half and finished with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Bryan Schnettler, who was named the MIAC Player of the Week for averaging 30.5 points per game, put up 10 points and was only 2-of-7 from 3-point range. Concordia will finish off the first half of the conference schedule when they play at Hamline on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 8:00pm.
