Complete MIAC All-Conference Awards List

MOORHEAD, Minn. (3/4/10)-- Concordia juniors John Fraase (Bismarck, N.D./Century HS) and Darrin Olmscheid (Buffalo, Minn.) earned MIAC postseason honors it was announced by the league office on Thursday. Fraase was named to the MIAC All-Conference Team for the second consecutive season and Olmscheid earned MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.

The pair helped the Cobbers post the team's first winning season since the 2003-04 season. Concordia went 13-12 on the year and finished the season by winning their final five games. In conference play CC was 9-11 and finished seventh in the league standings. The nine conference wins are the most since the 2007-08 campaign.

Fraase led the league in rebounding for the second straight year. Fraase averaged 10.5 rebounds in the team's 20 conference games. He had 11 double-doubles against MIAC opponents and now has 24 double-doubles in the past two seasons. That mark is a Cobber record. Fraase had a season-high 25 points against St. Mary's on Feb. 13 and posted a season-high 18 rebounds against Bethel on Jan. 2.

Overall in MIAC play Fraase averaged 12.7 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.35 assists and 1.10 assists. He led the team in all four categories and was in the top 17 of the conference in all four as well. He becomes the first player in the MIAC to average in double digits in points and rebounds in back-to-back seasons since Isaac Rosefelt of St. Thomas turned the trick in 2005-06 and 2006-07. He is also only the sixth player in conference to achieve that goal in recorded history.

It is the first postseason recognition for Olmscheid. He led the team in scoring in conference play. Olmscheid averaged 13.3 points per game against MIAC opponents and finished 14th in the league in scoring. Olmscheid had  a season-high 29 points against Gustavus on Jan. 23. He scored in double figures in 15 of the team's 20 league games. Olmscheid also led the team in offensive rebounds (1.65/game) and was tied for ninth in the MIAC in that category.
