Complete MIAC All-Conference Awards List

MOORHEAD, Minn (3/05/09)-- John Fraase (So., Bismarck, N.D./Century HS) capped his breakout sophomore season in the MIAC by being named to the MIAC All-Conference Team. Fraase was the team's only all-conference award winner. Senior Cody Dyshaw was the squad's representative on the All- MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

Fraase had a record-setting year for the Cobbers. He set the school record for average rebounds in a season and was the first player in program history to average at least 10 points and 10 rebounds in a single season. Fraase also had a school record 15 double-doubles during the season.

Fraase also became the first player in league history to score at least 30 points and grab 20 rebounds in a single conference game. He scored 31 points and hauled down 24 rebounds against St. Mary's on Feb. 18.

Fraase led the league in rebounds in 2008-09. He averaged 11.8 rebounds per game in the team's 20 league games. He was also fifth in the conference in scoring. He averaged 15.3 point per conference game. Fraase was named the MIAC Player of the Week on Feb. 23.

In all games Fraase averaged 15.6 points and 11.4 rebounds. He had 15 double-doubles and had his career-high night against the Cardinals when he scored 31 points and came away with the 24 rebounds. All told, Fraase had at least 10 rebounds in 17 of the team's 25 games this year.
