ST. PETER, Minn. (2/05/07)-- Concordia trailed wire-to-wire against Gustavus on Monday in St. Peter and lost going away 80-57. The Cobbers were never able to get closer than 10 points in the second half and trailed by at least 20 points for the last 10 minutes of the game as they lost for the fourth straight game.

Luke Linz led Concordia (3-18/3-13 MIAC) for the ninth time in the past ten games. The junior forward had a game-high 15 points to go along with a team-high three rebounds. Freshman forward James Baldwin was the only other CC player to score more than eight points in the game. He finished with 12 points and went 6-of-8 from the floor.

Rebounding was one of the key components in the game. The Cobbers hauled down a season-low 15 rebounds in the game and were outrebounded 30-15 - the largest deficit in rebounding for the season for Concordia.

Gustavus (12-9/10-6 MIAC) had four players score in double figures and were led by reserve forward Andrew Doble who had 14 points. Doble was part of the Gusties bench that outscored their Cobber counterparts 38-15. Joining Doble in double figures were Trevor Wittwer and Jay Stien who had 12 points each and Phil Sowden who added 11. Stien also had a game-high eight rebounds.

For the game, Concordia shot 52.2% (24-of-46) from the field and a season-best 66.7% (4-of-6) from 3-point range. The Gusties countered by hitting on 61.5% (32-of-52) from the floor and 50.0% (7-of-14) on shots from behind the arc.

The Cobbers will return home after the long weekend to host Bethel on Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 5:45 p.m.
