Concordia College Wellness Program
Credits
We are using a system of credits for participation in the activities
instead of recording minutes of exercise. Here's how it works:
-
One wellness credit will be given for each 30 minutes of time spent
improving your health and wellness.
-
You record the total number of credits earned each week.
-
Prizes will be given monthly from drawings to active participants.
-
You must accumulate a minimum of 16 credits per month to be active
and eligible for prizes.
-
You must have paid the participation fee to be eligible for prizes.
-
There will be a grand prize given at the end of the semester to the person
with the most credits.
-
Spouses are invited to participate in the program as well
Various activities that qualify for wellness credits are:
-attending campus chapel services
-attending campus Communion services Wednesday
nights
-any health-related seminars or classes sponsored
by Concordia (CPR, powerwalking, weight
training, nutrition, exercise classes,
etc.)
-physical activities that promote cardiovascular
health, strength, and flexibility (aerobic classes, martial
arts, walking, running, basketball,
mowing lawn with push mower, raking leaves, shoveling snow!,
swimming, yoga---any activity that is
done consistently to promote better health. Count only the time
spent doing the activity.)
We are still encouraging people to form teams to build camaraderie
and help with motivation, but we will accept individuals who register to
be a part of the program. There is a minimal fee of $5.00 to help cover
the cost of the prizes. Think of it as an investment in your health. Good
Luck and Have Fun!!
