| Concordia Hall of Fame Inductees The Concordia College Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes those individuals who best exemplify the spirit, integrity and philosophy of Concordia's athletic program. Former players, coaches and other individuals who have made significant contributions and brought honor to the athletic program are eligible for selection to the Athletic Hall of Fame. Steve Fox, '79 Track - All American intermediate hurdler in both the NAIA National Meet in 1977 and the NCAA Division III Meet in 1978. Jillayn Quaschnick, '89 Basketball - All American guard on the 1988 National Championship women's basketball team. 1964 Football Team First Concordia team National Champions The 2000 Inductees: Linda McDuffy, '84 Track and Field - Linda was the MIAC champion in the shot put, discus and javelin and established MIAC records in all three events. She placed in all three events at the NCAA Division III National meet. Mark Rice, '87 Football, Hockey, Baseball - Mark was voted the Cobbers' Most Valuable Player in both hockey and baseball, and earned All-American status in hockey his junior and senior years. Malcolm "Molly" McLeod, '83 Wrestling - Molly was a four-time MIAC wrestling champion and an All-American all four years at Concordia and captured second place in the NCAA Division III Meet his senior year. Ronald Offutt, '64 Football, Wrestling - Ron was an All-Conference football player his junior year and was the MIAC heavyweight wrestling champion. The 2001 Inductees: Jim Christopherson 1969-2000, Football 1978 National Championship Football Team 1981 National Championship Football Team The 2002 Inductees: Bob Beliveau, '79 Football Don Krause, 1957 Service David Uhlir, '75 Football 1981-82 AIAW Division III Championship Women's Basketball Team The 2003 Inductees: Ralph Halvorson, ' 81 - Football A starting linebacker on the 1978 MIAC championship and NAIA Division II National Championship football teams. All-American in 1980. Charles Olson, ' 70 - Football and Track and Field As a freshman, he won the long jump championship at the MIAC Indoor Track and Field Meet. Earned all-conference honors in football on offense and defense. Brent Reichert, '79 - Tennis and Basketball Four-time NAIA All-District award winner in tennis. Also earned all-conference honorable mention honors in basketball. A standout student/athlete, he maintained a 3.98 GPA at Concordia Michelle (Thykeson) Cota, '91 - Basketball Ranks third on the all-time Lady Cobber scoring list. Named to four consecutive NCAA West Region All-Tournament teams. During her four years at Concordia, Cota led the Cobbers to an overall record of 96 wins and 17 losses, including a 72-8 conference record and a 54-game home winning streak. Anderson ’85 - Baseball Susan Ekberg Risher ’82 - John A. Mutschelknaus ’80 - Cross Country Daniel L. Fahrman ’74 - Football Robert J. Nick ’65 - Football The 2007 Inductees: Complete Release Aaron Banks '96 - Track & Field Donald “Bucky” Burgau - Baseball Chris Coste - Baseball Dwight Hintermeister '82 - Football Patricia Kubow '89 - Basketball The Rev. Carl Lee The 2008 Inductees: Complete Release Steve Baumgartner '82 - Hockey Jeff Neil '85 - Wrestling 1987-88 NCAA National Championship Team Then known as the Lady Cobbers, they rolled to the national championship with Final Four wins over UNC-Greensboro, 103-66 in the semifinal game, and a 65-57 triumph over St. John Fisher College in the championship game. They finished with a 29-2 season record and 21-1 in the MIAC. On this team were three MIAC Most Valuable Players, five All-Americans and five individual inductees into the Concordia Athletic Hall of Fame. It included the all-time career scoring leader who was named the 1988 NCAA Division III Female Athlete of the Year, and the all-time MIAC record holder for assists in a game, season and career. The depth of the team is indicative by the number of players who are still on the Cobber all-time lists in scoring, rebounding, shooting percentage and assists. Members of the team are Barbara (Ambuehl) Oistad ‘90, Jessica (Beachy) Rahman ‘88, Cheri (Beyer) Stageberg ‘88, LaDonna (Cummings) Golden ‘89, Rebecca Ehnert ‘90, Kim Fierke ‘91, Nancy (Jacobson) Bruns ‘88, Susan (Kalpin) Empting ‘91, Patricia Kubow ‘89, MaryLee Legried ‘88, Jillayn Quaschnick ‘89, Rhonda (Schneekloth) Nudell ‘91 and Michelle (Thykeson) Cota ‘91. Julie (Hunt) Bauer ‘88 was the student manager, and Duane Siverson and Jerry Pyle coached the team. The 2009 Inductees: Complete Release Collette (Buhr) Folstad - Women's Basketball Mike Hassman '91 - Men's Hockey Mike Hassman, an outstanding hockey player, was a first team All-American, MIAC most valuable player and a three-time MIAC all conference player. As leading scorer for the Cobbers, he set records for most points and goals scored over three seasons. Dave Klug '80 - Football Dave Klug, an all-round athlete at Concordia, earned All-American honors as a defensive end in football his senior season. He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth round of the 1980 NFL draft and played four seasons for the Chiefs. Klug joined the Cobber coaching staff in 1988. Kris (DeBoer) Smith '89 - Track and Field Kristin (DeBoer) Smith won seven MIAC long jump titles, eight conference triple jump championships and was a six-time All-American. She still holds Cobber records in the triple jump and long jump. Tim Tinglestad '82 - Men's Tennis Tim Tingelstad was a member of the champion MIAC golf team and an Academic All-American golfer during his senior season in 1981.
