(2/27/07)-- Concordia senior Heather Schuster (Grafton, N.D./Minto HS) was named the MIAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week it was announced by the league office on Tuesday. It is the first time in her career that she has won the weekly award. Schuster captured the honor by provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Division III National Indoor Track and Field Meet in the 800 meters by running a 2:16.51 at the Dakota Duals Meet held at North Dakota State University last Friday. That time is the fastest in the MIAC this season by almost a full five seconds and is the 16th fastest in the nation. Schuster is also ranked second in the 600 meters and eighth in the 400 meters and mile run in the MIAC heading into the conference meet this weekend. Overall, she has four different team-best times in 2007.
