Meet Recap

MOORHEAD, Minn.-- Concordia left little doubt as to who was the best team at the Cobber Dual meet on Saturday. Concordia swept all five dual meets on their way to posting a perfect 5-0 record and winning the team title at the meet.

Concordia won three events, had numerous top five finishes and had over 15 athletes post personal best marks.

Angie Pfeiffer went 2-for-2 on the year by winning the 400 meters. last weekend she captured the 200 meters at the Cobber Open. Pfeiffer ran a 59.13 in the 400 meters to win by .39.

Pfeiffer was joined by Heather Schuster and Brittney Christianson in the winners circle. Like Pfeiffer, Schuster claimed her second event of the year, winning the 1000 meters in a time of 3:02.81. That time is almost six seconds faster than her mark from last week and is the fifth fastest time in program history in the event. Christianson clocked a personal best time of 2:35.91 to win the 800 meters.

Two big events for Marv Roeske's team were the 600 meters and the triple jump. In the 600, the Cobbers placed four athletes in the top six of the race. They were led by Amy Ravenhorst who finished second in a time of 1:43.15.

In the triple jump, five different Concordia athletes placed in the top eight of the event. Three of the five competitors posted personal best distances. Robin Larson, Danielle Norby and Holly Vlasak all cracked the 32-foot barrier in the event to finish 4-5-6.

Concordia will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 11 when they travel to St. Ben's to take part in the St. Ben's Triangular meet.
