ST. PAUL, Minn. (4/24/06)-- Concordia senior track sprint star Angie Pfeiffer (Colman, S.D./Colman-Egan HS) was named the MIAC Track Athlete of the Week for her record-breaking performance at the Kansas Relays last weekend. It is the first time that she has won the award this season.

Pfeiffer broke a 20-year-old school record in the 400 meters. Pfeiffer's time of 55.87 in the preliminary heat of the Kansas Relays is the fastest time in the nation by any NCAA Division III athlete this year.

She was the only non-Division I or II athlete to run in the finals of the race and finished seventh, posting a time of 57.16.

Pfeiffer also ran a 25.05 in the 200 at the Cobber Twilight meet on Tuesday, Apr. 18. Pfeiffer also anchored a pair of 3:59 4x400 relay efforts for the Cobbers, a 3:59.15 on April 18 and 3:59.10 at the Kansas Relays.
