ST. PAUL, Minn. (5/17/06)-- Concordia senior track sensation Angie Pfeiffer (Colman, S.D./Colman-Egan HS) has added another trophy to her already overflowing trophy case. On Wednesday, the MIAC league office announced that Pfeiffer's record-breaking performance in the 400 meters at the conference championship meet was named the Most Outstanding Performance of the meet.

The award is the second consecutive for Pfeiffer who claimed the Most Outstanding Performance at the MIAC Indoor Meet in March.

Pfeiffer ran a 56.26 in the finals of the 400 meters and won the event by a full second to set a new meet and stadium record. Pfeiffer eclipsed her old meet record set last year and she bettered the 16-year-old stadium record of 57.22 set by Amy McRell of the University of Iowa set in 1990.

Pfeiffer finished her career with three Most Outstanding Performance of the MIAC Meet awards and was named the Most Outstanding Track Athlete at the 2004 MIAC Outdoor Championship meet.

Pfeiffer currently holds 13 school records and is a five-time All-American and last year was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American Second Team. She has automatically qualified for the NCAA national Outdoor Meet this season and holds the third fastest time in the nation in the 400 meters.
