ST. PAUL, Minn. (5/09/06)-- Concordia senior track standout athlete Natalie Hanson (Rogers, Minn./Elk River HS) was named the MIAC Co-Track Athlete of the Week for her record-breaking performance at the Ron Masanz Invitational last weekend. It is the second time that she has won the award this season. She was also named the MIAC Track Athlete of the Week on Apr. 4.

Hanson broke the school record in the 800 meters at the Ron Masanz Invitational by running a 2:11.96. That time broke the old mark of 2:12.30 set in 2001 by Heidi Brenden. Hanson's time also automatically qualifies her for the NCAA Division III National Meet. Her time is currently the fastest in the MIAC and third fastest in the nation.

Hanson posted a national provisionally qualifying time in the 1500 meters at the Tommie Twilight meet. Her time of 4:39.95 is the third fastest in the MIAC.

Hanson also helped the 1600-meter relay team record a national qualifying time of 3:51.37. That mark is the second fastest in the conference this season.
