NCAA Division III Indoor Meet Results

TERRA HAUTE, Ind. (3/13/09)-- Concordia junior Leah Kay (Dassel, Minn./Dassel-Cokato HS) scored a total of 3,195 points and finished in a tie for eighth in the pentathlon at the NCAA Division III National Indoor Meet at Rose-Hulman Institute in Terra Haute, Ind. on Friday. With her eighth-place finish Kay earns her first indoor All-American award and third in her career. Last year she earned All-American honors in both the heptathlon and high jump at the national outdoor meet.

Her final point total is 119 points below her qualifying score of 3,314 points she scored at the Cobber Pentathlon on Jan. 30.

Kay, who is hampered by a lower leg injury, had a personal best in the 800 meters as she ran a 2:27.06. That was her best event of the day as she scored 740 points in the 800 meters alone. She also scored 700-plus points in the 55-meter hurdles and high jump.

Kay also competed in the high jump at the national meet but cleared only 5-01.25 and finished in 13th place.
