Meet Recap:

FARGO, N.D. (2/06/09)-- Concordia competed in their second full multiple-team meet of the year as they traveled across the Red River to compete in Bison Open. Like the previous week at the Cobber Open, CC posted several personal best marks and were led by senior Kristina Bruns who posted a time of 8.53 in the 60-meter dash. That mark is the ninth best in school history and the top time in the conference this season.

Bruns was one of several Concordia athletes to finish in the top 10 at the meet. Bruns' time in the finals was good enough for ninth place in a meet that was dominated by NCAA Division I and II athletes. Bruns also recorded a distance of 32-11.75 in the triple jump and finished in sixth place. Bruns is currently ranked third in the triple jump after she had a distance of 34-06.75 at last week's Cobber Open.

For the second straight meet sophomore distance runner Hailey Brenden had the top finish for a Concordia athlete. Brenden ran a 10:37.42 and finished second. Teammate Brittney Christianson ran a 1:053.49 in the evetn and finished in fourth place.

Other top five finishers for the Cobbers included Kristin Slette in the 400 meters who ran a 1:01.44 and finished fifth. Leah Kay finished fifth in the high jump with a height of 5.00-.25. Alyssa Deutschmann also cleared the same height as Kay but finished seventh in the event. Deutschmann also posted a seventh-place finish in the triple jump.

Concordia will compete in the St. Ben's Duals at St. John's University on Saturday, Feb. 14.
