MOORHEAD, Minn. (1/26/08)-- Concordia opened the 2008 indoor season by finishing 5-1 at the Cobber Duals meet on Saturday. CC posted wins over Jamestown, University of Mary, North Dakota State, Minot State and UM-Morris. The lone loss came against MSU Moorhead who won the meet with a perfect 6-0 record.

Individually, Concordia posted 22 career-best marks as they competed in their first full meet of the season. The Cobbers were led by senior Ali Parsons who ran a career-best 2:34.14 in the 800 meters and finished second. Parsons was one of four CC athletes to finish in the top three in an individual event. Concordia also had all three of their relay teams finish second in the three relay events.

Besides Parsons, Alexa Kleingartner finished third in the 60-meter hurdles in a career-best time of 10.25. Maria Middleton finished third in the mile and fourth in the 3000 meters. Her time of 5:36.18 in the mile is a personal best. Sarah Sorvaag was the only Cobber field athlete to post a top three finish. She recorded a distance of 43.8.50 and finished third.

Concordia will return to action when they compete at the Bison Open on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 3 p.m.
