Meet Recap:

TERRA HAUTE, Ind. (3/10/07)
Head Coach Marv Roeske's Race Recap

Heather was sixth in her heat and less then a half second from winning her heat - her time was 2:16.89, the heat was won in 2:16.41.

She was in good position with 250 yards to go as she was on the inside with a chance to pass and move up on the inside when suddenly she got closed in and was completely surrounded by other runners.

The pack was so tight that she couldn't move forward, backward or out - so when she was finally clear to sprint to the finish she just ran out of race.

As fast as she was charging at the end, had the race been 810 meters she would have won the heat and would be an All-American.

The race was so close at the end that the first six runners were lined up across the track as if they were finishing the 55 dash. Heather was actually in lane five when she crossed the line. She felt so good and ready to run after the race that she was very disappointed about the outcome but knows that she will have a chance to become an All-American at the outdoor meet.
