Meet Recap:

MOORHEAD, Minn. (2/03/07)-- Concordia capped off its annual trio of home indoor track and field meets by placing third at the Cobber Duals on Saturday. Concordia finished with a final team record of 4-2 at the meet.

The Cobbers were able to post wins over Jamestown College, UM-Morris, Augustana and a reserve squad from North Dakota State but fell to the University of Mary and MSU Moorhead.

Concordia freshman Leah Kay continued her early-season success by winning the high jump with a personal-best height of 5-1. That mark is only three inches shy of the NCAA Division III provisional qualifying mark of 5-4. Kay was the only individual event winner for CC.

Concordia did have success in a pair of the relay events as well. The Cobber distance medley relay team of Ali Parsons, Kendra Bengtson, Rachel Charpentier and Anna Hagen ran a 13:39.55 and won the event by almost 20 seconds.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Kristin Slette, Kelly Olson, Alissa Bilden and Heather Schuster also put in a top-two performance. The quartet posted a time of 4:13.72 and finished second in the event.

CC junior Maria Middleton finished second in the 3000 meters in a time of 11:08.96 to record one of the other top individual finishes besides Kay's win in the high jump. She was joined by Schuster who placed second in the mile run with a mark of 5:21.17 and Slette who was the runner-up in the 400 meters in a time of 62.18.

Concordia will finally hit the road in 2007 when they compete in the St. Ben's Triangular Meet on Feb. 10 at 1 p.m.
