Matchday Match Recap

BURNSVILLE, Minn.-- Concordia ran into nationally-ranked Carleton and was unable to scratch the surface against the Knights. Carleton swept the doubles portion of the match and then carried that momentum into the singles events on their way to a 9-0 victory.

The loss is the second straight for the Cobbers this season and first in MIAC play.

The #3 doubles team of Valerie Bostrum and Mollie Miller had the tightest match in doubles play. Bostrum and Miller lost a tough 8-5 decsision to Abby Beggs and Christina Walker.

Kelsey Schendel dropped the closest singles match of the day. She fell 6-4, 6-2 against Walker at the #4 singles spot.

One of the highlights for Concordia was the play of Annie Styba who lost a 6-3, 6-1 match at #1 singles to 20th-ranked Sarah Russell.
