Matchday Match Recap
ST. PETER, Minn. (4/28/06)-- Concordia lost 7-0 to Hamline in the first round of the MIAC Tournament and will play Macalester in the ninth-place qualifying match later in the day.

The Cobbers were never able to gain any momentum as they lost all three doubles matches and then the first four singles matches. The team competition was halted after the seventh match because of the insurmountable margin of victory for the Pipers.

The closest doubles match of the day was at No. 3 where Concordia's Mollie Miller and Valerie Bostrom were narrowly defeated in the tie-breaker (9-7).

Miller also lost in the super-set tie-breaker in singles play. She won the first set against Hamline's Jenna McManus but then lost the next two, falling 3-6, 6-4,

11-9. Katie Luther was the only other Cobber player to extend the match to three sets. Luther lost the first set 6-3 but then came back to win the second 6-2 before falling in the super-set 10-7.

The Cobbers and Scots are scheduled to get underway at 1:30pm in a match to be held inside at the Swanson Tennis Center on the campus of Gustavus.
