Matchday Match Recap
BEMIDJI, Minn. (4/19/06)-- Concordia won four of the six singles matches, and a pair of doubles tilts, as they beat Bemidji State to earn their first road win of the year.

With the win, Concordia finishes out their regular season with a 3-12 record. Bemidji State loses for the fifth straight time and falls to 1-12 on the season.


Freshman Mollie Miller led the Cobbers with a pair of wins. She won her No. 5 singles match 6-0, 6-1 and then teamed with senior Annie Styba to win at the No. 2 doubles slot 8-5. The win for Miller in singles ups her season record to 5-7. She is currently tied with Beth Meier for the most singles wins on the team.

Meier stayed even with Miller by claiming a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Kali Welu at No. 2 singles. Besides Miller and Meier, Katie Luther came up with a key win for Concordia at No. 3 singles. Playing in the tightest match of the day, she fought off one match point and outlasted Kristen Lexcen to post a 2-6, 6-4, 11-9 win. Kelsey Schendel also recorded a win for the Cobbers. She cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles.

Leigh Bonemeyer and Valerie Bostrom helped Concordia set the stage early in the match by coasting to an 8-2 win in their No. 3 doubles match.
