Carleton College 11-5/8-1 MIAC Match Recap: MOORHEAD, Minn. (4/19/09)-- Concordia's three-match came to a grinding halt as the Cobbers fell 8-1 to regionally ranked Carleton in Moorhead on Sunday. The loss drops the Cobbers overall season record to 11-3. CC is now 3-2 in the MIAC and is currently in fifth place in the league standings. The Knights entered the match ranked ninth in the latest ITA Central Region Rankings and were 8-1 in league play. They captured all three doubles matches to grab the early momentum in the match and then took five singles bouts. The Cobbers' lone win came at No.5 singles where senior Mollie Miller won in the super-set tiebreaker. Concordia will continue their hectic spring schedule when they host No.18-ranked Gustavus on Wednesday, Apr. 22 at 4:30 p.m. |
