Match Recap:

MOORHEAD, Minn. (4/19/09)-- Concordia's three-match came to a grinding halt as the Cobbers fell 8-1 to regionally ranked Carleton in Moorhead on Sunday.

The loss drops the Cobbers overall season record to 11-3. CC is now 3-2 in the MIAC and is currently in fifth place in the league standings.

The Knights entered the match ranked ninth in the latest ITA Central Region Rankings and were 8-1 in league play. They captured all three doubles matches to grab the early momentum in the match and then took five singles bouts.

The Cobbers' lone win came at No.5 singles where senior Mollie Miller won in the super-set tiebreaker. Miller lost the first set 6-3 but then roared back to blank Carleton's Emily Ho 6-0 in the second set. Miller carried that confidence into the tie breaker where she claimed a 10-5 win. The victory for Miller pushes her season win total to seven. She is now 7-4 and has won 17 singles matches in her career.

Concordia will continue their hectic spring schedule when they host No.18-ranked Gustavus on Wednesday, Apr. 22 at 4:30 p.m.
