MOORHEAD, Minn. (5/7/09)-- Concordia freshman Andrea Rognlien (Fargo, N.D./Oak Grove HS) was named to the MIAC All-Conference Team in singles play it was announced by the league office on Thursday. Rognlien was the team's No.1 singles player and tied for the team lead in wins in 2009.

Cobber junior Amy Freeman (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley HS) was the team's representative to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

The two players helped Concordia to its second-best season in program history. The Cobbers finished with a 13-7 overall record. CC also went 5-5 in the MIAC and made the conference playoffs for the first time in school history. The five wins in conference play is more than the past five seasons combined.

Rognlien went 5-5 in conference play but fashioned an impressive 12-7 overall mark in her first full year of collegiate tennis. She started the season by winning her first seven matches and won 10 of her first 12 collegiate singles matches. Of her 12 wins in singles play in 2009, all but one came in straight sets.
