Doubleheader Recap:

MOORHEAD, Minn. (4/10/10)-- Concordia was unable to contain the St. Thomas running offense on Saturday and lost twice to the Tommies 12-2 and 10-1. Both games lasted five innings due to the eight-run rule.

It is the first time in the last four doubleheaders that the Cobbers did not split and moves their record to 5-18 overall and 2-4 in the MIAC). St. Thomas earns their seventh straight win and their 17th in their last 18 games. UST is now 19-5 in all game and 6-0 in league play.

The story of the day was the big inning for St. Thomas. The Cobbers were able to contain the Tommies for seven of the 10 innings they played but a four-run frame and a six-run inning in the first game and an eight-run inning in the second game spelled doom for Concordia. Without those three innings, the Cobbers were only outscored 4-3 for the day.

Offensively the Cobbers were led by Maddie Haroldson and Kaia Sele. Haroldson had hits in both games and went 2-for-4 in the doubleheader. Sele hit her first collegiate home run. She hammered a pitch over the left field fence in the fourth inning of the first game for the first run of the day for CC.

Concordia will now head out on the road when they play MIAC preseason favorite Gustavus in St. Peter on Wednesday, Apr. 14 at 4 p.m.
