Meet Recap:

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. (2/10/07)-- For the first time in the 2007 indoor season, Concordia traveled away from the friendly confines of the Olson Forum to compete in a team meet. The Cobbers finished third at the SJU Triangular Meet hosted by St. John's on Saturday.

The highlight of the meet for the Cobbers was the 4x400-meter relay where Concordia used a different crew that won the 4x400-meter race at the Cobber duals and came away with a victory at the SJU Triangular. The quartet of Paul Westmark, Justin Shobe, Dusten Olejnicak and Josh Smith ran a 3:29.16 to win the event by over four seconds.

Last weekend Westmark, Shobe and Smith joined with Josh Haddeland to post a 3:29:73 to win by over five seconds.

The top individual finishers for the Cobbers at the St. John's Triangular were David Pettit and Nick Meseck who tied for the top height in the high jump at 5-10.5.

Relay teammates Smith and Olejnicak recorded a pair of top three finishes. Smith claimed second place in the 400 meters in a time of 51.56 and Olejnicak finished third in the long jump with a distance of 19-6.25.

Other top three finishes for the Cobbers included Ben Saunders in the 200-meter hurdles (3rd), Westmark in the 400 meters (3rd) and Billy Oehlers in the shot put (3rd).

Concordia will head into North Dakota for their next meet as they will participate in the Bison Classic on Friday, Feb. 16 at noon.
