Match Recap:

MOORHEAD, Minn. (3/14/09)-- Concordia shuffled their lineup and came up with an 8-1 win over the University of Mary in Moorhead on Saturday. The victory is the first home win of the year for the Cobbers who move to 3-5 on the season.

Concordia won both contested doubles matches and four of the five contested singles matches for the day. CC head coach Troy Hanestad kept his top two doubles teams intact and they produced a pair of wins. Matt Edin and Kirbi Johnson posted an 8-2 win at No.1 doubles and Chad Smith and Jordan Swanson earned an 8-1 victory at No.2 doubles.

In singles play, senior Arnie Andreasen won his first singles match of the season. He recorded a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles. Bryn Homuth, David Bloomquist and Kevin Schwandt also earned singles wins for the Cobbers.

Concordia will play a pair of matches in Duluth on Saturday, Mar. 21. The Cobbers will play Bethany Lutheran at noon and then take on St. Scholastica at 3 p.m. Both matches will be played at St. Scholastica.
