MOORHEAD, Minn. (5/7/09)-- Concordia sophomore Matt Edin (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley HS) was named to the MIAC All-Conference Team it was announced by the league office on Thursday. Edin earns All-Conference honors in singles play for the second straight season.

Cobber freshman Chad Smith (Grand Forks, N.D./Red River HS) was the team's representative to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

Edin, Concordia's No.1 singles player, the led team in singles wins in 2009. He recorded eight overall victories and was 5-4 in conference play. He started the conference season by going 5-1 but then faded down the stretch. At one point during the season he won six straight matches and started the year by winning eight of his first 10.

Edin has now collected 17 singles wins during his first two seasons as a Cobber. He also has nine MIAC victories during that time.
