Complete List of 2008 MIAC All-Conference Team

MOORHEAD, Minn. (5/06/08)-- Three Concordia men's tennis players earned MIAC All-Conference honors it was announced on Friday. William Wischer and Kirby Johnson were named to the MIAC All-Conference Team as part of the doubles group and freshman Matt Edin earned all-conference honors in singles play. Wischer was also the team's representative to the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

It is the second straight season that Wischer has earned MIAC All-Conference honors and the first for both Johnson and Edin.

Wischer and Johnson were the team's No.1 doubles team since the Cobbers played in Florida at the end of February. The two compiled a 6-4 overall mark in the 10 matches they played together. They were also 4-4 in conference play and finished the year by winning three of their final five matches.

Wischer earns his first doubles all-conference selection after being named to the MIAC All-Conference Team in 2007 for his outstanding singles play. Wischer finished his career with 39 singles wins and led the team in singles victories in 2008 with 10. It was only the second time in his four years that he posted double-digit singles wins. For his four years at Concordia, Wischer was 39-26.

Edin capped his first collegiate season by winning two of his final three conference matches. He was the team's No.2 singles player the entire season. He made his breakout stretch in the middle of the year when he won four straight singles matches including a 7-5, 7-5 thriller over St. Olaf on Mar. 18.
