Match Recap:
ST. PETER, Minn. (3/18/07)-- Concordia used eight different players and a revamped lineup to batter Martin Luther 8-1 and pick up their third consecutive victory. The Cobbers won all three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches en route to evening their overall record at 4-4 on the season.

The match was the first of the season for the Knights who fall to 0-1 on the year.

For the first time all season, Concordia used a different No.1 doubles team. The regular pairing of Jordy Kamerling and Paul Tuchscherer were given the day off in doubles and allowed the first-time duo of Ryan Smith and Kirby Johnson to take center stage. The tandem made quick work of the No.1 doubles team from Martin Luther by posting an 8-4 victory.

Johnson also won a decisive 6-1, 6-0 decision at No.4 singles to win his first collegiate singles match.

Cobber stalwart William Wischer was then paired with the team's usual No.6 singles player David Nygaard at the No.2 doubles spot. The pair cruised to an 8-2 win and then both players won their singles matches in convincing fashion. Wischer claimed a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No.2 singles to earn his third straight singles victory and fourth of the year. He is now 4-4 on the season. Nygaard posted his most lopsided win of the year in singles play as he won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 singles. It was also his first collegiate singles win of the year.

The little-used pairing of Arnold Andreasen and Kyle Grunder finished off the doubles sweep by winning 8-3 at the No.3 doubles position. It was also the first collegiate win for both players in either doubles or singles play.

The two top singles players for the Cobbers were inserted into the singles lineup and made short work of their opponents. Kamerling returned to his usual spot at No.1 singles and walked away with an impressive 6-0, 6-0 win as he failed to lose a game for the first time all season. Tuchscherer almost matched Kamerling's output but lost only one game, winning 6-1, 6-0 at the No.3 singles spot.

Concordia will continue with non-conference play as they take on St. Cloud State on Sunday, Mar. 25 at 3 p.m. in Sartell, Minn. The Cobbers will be looking for revenge as the Huskies claimed a 5-4 victory over CC earlier in the year.
