Before coming to Concordia he was the head varsity baseball coach at Holy Cross High School in Louisville, Ky. While at Holy Cross he was also a school administrator. Reese fashioned a 228-97 overall record while coaching 11 years for the Cougars. During his years at Holy Cross, the team won four regional titles, a sectional crown and made it the state semifinals on two occasions. The 2004 team won a school-record 32 games, beating six of Kentucky's top high school baseball teams and making it to the state semifinal. He coached several High School All-State players who went on to play at the D-l level. Before coaching at Holy Cross he also coached in Louisville and in Quincy, Ill. In addition to his achievements at Holy Cross, Reese has also won district, regional and sectional championships and has a 431-194 career record as a head baseball coach. He has coached in the Amateur Athletic Union and in the National Amateur Baseball Federation. His 1999 Louisville Titan team placed fourth in the NABF World Series. Reese is a 1973 graduate of Dickinson State University and earned his master's degree in education from the University of South Florida. In addition to his duties with the Cobber baseball team, Reese also works in the Concordia Admissions Office as an Enrollment Advisor. Mike and his wife, Judy, live in Fargo. They have three grown children; Laura, Lisa, and Marshall. |
