Season Wrap-up Young Cobbers Go Through Rebuilding Year  After posting a 52-23 record over the preceeding three seasons, a young Cobber men's basketball team stuggled through a 3-21 rebuilding year.  The Cobbers were led by  senior co-captains Jim Gillhouse ('98, Ronan, MT) and Brian Kjesbo ('98, Wendell). Gillhouse averaged 10.9 points per game and Kjesbo, a business major, earned  Academic All-MIAC honors.  Brian Kesselring Among the several underclassmen making significant contributions were junior forward Brian Kesselring ('99, Fargo), the team's leading scorer at 12 points per game, forward Mike Wrobel ('01, Willmar), the team leader in rebounding and a member of the MIAC's All-Freshman team, and sophomore guard Micah Benson ('00, Moorhead), who was 6th in assists in the MIAC and also earned Academic All-MIAC Honors.  Earlier Headlines  3/6 Concordian Story 3/4/98 Winter 1997-98 Cobber Academic All-MIAC Athletes Brian Kjesbo, Wendell, MN/West Central Area HS, Sr., Business Micah Benson, Moorhead, So., Biology-Pre-Med   3/2/98  Mike Wrobel named to MIAC All-First Year Student Team. Cobber Freshman Mike Wrobel , a 6-6 forward from Willmar, was one of five players named today to the MIAC's All Freshmen Men's basketball team.  Mike led the 1997-98 Cobbers in rebounding with 6.9 per game and was the Cobbers' third leading scorer with 9.3 ppg. He had the highest scoring average and highest rebounding average of any Cobber freshman in the 1990's.
