Wayne Rice, a 1983 graduate from Willmar, Minn., prepares to serve
against his Opponent from Moorhead State University during a match held
at Concordia's Memorial Auditorium on April 13. Rice, who went on to win
the match 6-4, 6-4, ended the season with a 12-4 record. Concordia's season
was high lighted by twice defeating North Dakota State University,
Fargo; The University of Minnesota-Morris; and MSU. The Cobbers were 14-6
for the season and placed fifth in tournament action at the Minnesota Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference championship held May 6-8 at Gustavus Adolphus College,
St. Peter, Minn. Finishing the year with the best record on the team
was David Eidsmoe, a junior from White Bear Lake, Minn., who was 15-3.
