Cobber Pregame notes
The 15th annual Crystal Bowl between Concordia and Moorhead State Sept. 5th will open the 1998 Cobber season. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:35. The Crystal Bowl game is sponsored by Crystal Sugar. Concordia leads the series with the Dragons 44-19-12 and won last year's game 17-7. (See full Cobber Pre-season Preview) - Concordia won its 400th game in school history last year with the regular-season finale win over Carleton. The Cobbers lost to Augsburg in the first round of last year's NCAA Playoffs to cap an 8-3 season, 7-2 and tied for second in the MIAC. - Cobber starting QB Ethan Pole completed 10 of 18 passes against the Dragons last year for 96 yards, 1 TD and no interceptions. - The Cobber defense held MSU's outstanding runningback Grover Moore to just 35 yards in last year's game and the Dragons completed just 4 of 18 passes. - Cobber injury notes:
