by Colin Beltz

The Concordia Cobber women were having trouble getting out in front of Macalester until Holly Zollar scored eight straight points in the second half to lift the team to a 73-65 win. The Cobbers' record now stands at 6-1 in the MIAC, 10-2 overall.

Concordia held a two-point lead before Zollar lauched two three-pointers from the top of the key and a lay-up in the next three trips down the court for the Cobbers to give them a 48-40 lead. Concordia lengthened the lead to 60-45, before Macalester attempted a comeback.

They got within six points of the Cobbers with a minute left in the game, but the Cobbers hung on for the victory.

Zollar led the team Concordia with 20 points and tied for the team high with six assists. Ann Mehrkens scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Mindy Schirm scored 10 points, had six rebounds, six assists, and made four steals.
