2/27 Joe Snowden and Kermit Cooper
Earn MIAC Postseason Honors.
Joe Snowden (Sr., St. Paul, MN) was named First Team All-Conference
and Kermit Cooper (Freeport, BAH) was named the league's Sixth Player of
the Year.
Snowden, a transfer from North Dakota State University, led the team in scoring, 3-point field goals and minutes played. He was sixth in the league in scoring with a 16.45 points per game average. He helped the Cobbers make the MIAC playoffs for the first time since the 1995-96 season, and keyed the first round upset of St. Thomas in the playoff tournament. His most memorable game came in December when he scored 42 points against Willamette (OR) in the title game of the University of Redlands Tournament. For his performance in that tournament he was named the MIAC player of the week.
Cooper a member of the 1998-99 Cobber team joined the team after Christmas
break, after taking a one year hiatus. In his 17 league games he finished
third in the MIAC in rebounding with a 8.29 rebounds per game average.
He led the team in rebounding and was third on the team in scoring with
a 10.9 average. Over the last three games of the season Cooper averaged
11.33 points and 13.67 rebounds per game. He helped lead the Cobbers to
the semifinal round of the MIAC Tournament.
