Women's Swimming and Diving
- Concordia was one of eight MIAC women's swimming and diving teams to earn the College Swimming Coaches Association of American (CSCAA) Scholar All-American Team designation for the fall semester. The Cobbers have a team grade point average of 3.33 and were the fourth highest rank MIAC team.


Men's Basketball (12-12/8-11 MIAC - won at Macalester 76-50/

won at St. Mary's 74-55)

- Concordia is finishing the 2009-10 season with a flourish. The Cobbers have won four straight games and are 12-12 on the season. If Concordia wins their final game of the season at home against St. Olaf on Saturday it will be the first time since the 2002-03 season that the Cobbers will finish with an above .500 overall record.

- Cobber junior John Fraase (Coon Rapids, Minn.) averaged 19.5 points and 12.8 rebounds per game in the Cobbers' road wins at Macalester and Saint Mary's last week and was named the MIAC Co-Player of the Week. He has now posted double-doubles in his last four games and has 12 for the season. Fraase has also scored at least 18 points in three of the last four games. He currently leads the MIAC in rebounding with a 10.3 rpg average in conference play. He is also averaging 12.5 points per league game and has scored in double figures in 13 of the team's 19 MIAC games.


Women's Basketball (16-7/15-5 MIAC - lost at Macalester 84-81/

won at St. Mary's 80-51)

- Concordia women’s basketball player Erica Nord (Jr., Wolverton, Minn./Barnesville HS) was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Third Team last week. She becomes the fourth player in the last four years from Concordia to earn Academic All-District honors. Nord, who carries a 3.98 grade point average while majoring in Accounting and Business Management, leads Concordia in scoring, assists and steals and is second on the team in rebounding.

- Concordia will be playing in their eighth consecutive MIAC playoff tournament next week. The Cobbers can finish anywhere from first place to fifth place in the league standings. If CC finishes in the top 3 it will mark the fifth time in the last six years they have finished in the top 3 of the MIAC regular season standings.


Men's Hockey (5-14-4/4-5-4 MIAC - Did Not Play)

- The Cobbers are currently 4-5-4 in the MIAC and in seventh place in the league standings. The 14 conference points are the most for the Cobbers since the 2002-03 season.

- Concordia sophomore Nick Thielen (Moorhead, Minn.) is currently sixth in the MIAC in scoring in conference games. Thielen has seven goals and nine assists for 16 points on the year. In overall games he has 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points. That's the most points by a Cobber player in a season since 2006-07 when Alec Holen finished with 26 points.


Women's Hockey (10-9-2/5-7-2 MIAC - tied St. Kate's 6-6/lost to St. Kate's 6-5)

- Cobber sophomore Katelyn Dold (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech HS) had six points in last weekend’s series against league-leading St. Kate’s and is currently leading the MIAC in scoring in overall and conference games. Dold has 13 goals and 18 points for 31 points in the team’s 21 games this year. Her 31 points is the most by any Cobber player since the 2002-03 season when Katies Jacques had 37 points. Her point total is the ninth highest in school history.

- Concordia has scored a league-leading 20 goals in the second period against conference opponents. Overall the Cobbers have scored 44 goals in the MIAC and is ranked fourth in goals for.


Men's Track & Field (compete at NDSU Bison Open)

- Concordia junior Tom Sederquist (Moorhead, Minn.) clocked an 8:39.72 in the 3000 meters at the Bison Open and finished fourth. That time is the fastest in school history since 1981 and second best in the MIAC this season. Sederquist's time was 13.09 seconds faster than his time the week before at the Cobber Duals meet. He finished fourth in the race that was hosted by DI NDSU and featured top runners from DI, DI and NAIA schools. Sederquist now owns the second fastest time in the conference in the 3000 meters and fourth fastest time in the 5000 meters as he starts to establish himself as one of the premiere distance runners in the conference.

- Concordia had a pair of field athletes post top 15 finishes at the NDSU Bison Open. thletes Troy Henne (Sr., Moorhead, Minn.) who ran a 2:04.42 in the 800 meters and finished 12th and Paul Lillehaugen (Jr., Moorhead, Minn.) who finished the mile in a time of 4:41.06 and placed 15th.


Women's Track & Field (compete at NDSU Bison Open)

- Cobber sophomore Tatijana MullerDahlberg (Fargo, N.D./Oak Grove HS) continued her hot season start by jumping 36-07.00 in the triple jump and finished fourth at the Bison Open. She has now recorded jumps of over 36-feet in three straight meets. She has provisionally qualified for the NCAA National Meet and has the top distance in the MIAC this year. MullerDahlberg also set a personal best in the high jump by recording a height of 5-00.50. She was one of three Cobber athletes to clear 5-feet at the meet.

- Senior Tara Ray (Darby, Mont.) came close to provisionally qualifying for the NCAA National Indoor Meet in the pentathlon last weekend at the Bison Open. Ray entered the event on a whim and proceeded to score 2943 points which is the seventh best score in school history and just 57 points shy of provisionally qualifying for nationals.


W. Swimming & Diving (Did Not Compete - this week at MIAC Meet)

- Cobber junior Katie Coleman (Jr., Marshall, Minn.) will lead the CC swimming crew at the upcoming MIAC Championship Meet. Coleman has been the team’s most consistent swimmer in 2010 and has top 30 marks in the conference in six different events. Coleman’s best events come in the distance freestyle where she is ranked 19th in the 1650-yard freestyle. She is also ranked 21st in the 200-yard freestyle and 26th in the 500-yard freestyle. Last year Coleman had top 10 finishes in two events.


Wrestling (12-5 - beat U of Mary 28-9 - this week at NCAA Region Meet)

National Ranking - 7th in the latest Brute/Adidas National Poll

- Concordia beat the University of Mary 28-9 last week to earn their school-record 12th dual-meet win of the year. The Cobbers broke the old mark of 11 set back in 1985.

- The Cobbers have four wrestlers ranked in the top 10 of the latest national rankings.

Daron Hohbein (So., Mandan, N.D.) is ranked sixth at 125, Ben Anderson (Jr., Frazee, Minn.) is ranked fourth at 141, Justin Berns (Jr., Perham, Minn.) is ranked ninth at 149 and last year's national runner-up Phil Moenkedick (Jr., Perham, Minn.) is ranked fourth at 184.

- Concordia will compete at the NCAA Great Lakes Region Meet on Saturday at Augsburg. The top 2 wrestlers in each weight class at the regional meet automatically qualify for the national meet.


Men's Tennis (1-3/0-1 MIAC - lost at St. Thomas 8-1/

beat Northwestern 9-0)

Concordia junior Mattt Edin (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley HS) earned his 20th career victory in the Cobbers’ conference-opening loss against St. Thomas on Friday. Edin, a two-time MIAC All-Conference performer, is 3-0 this season and 20-14 in his two-plus year career.

- The Cobbers picked up their first win of the season on Saturday when they beat Northwestern 9-0. CC will now head to a warmer climate as they travel to Orlando, Fla. for their annual spring break trip. The Cobbers will play five matches from Feb. 22-27.


Women's Tennis (1-0/0-0 MIAC - beat Northwestern 9-0)

- Cobber sophomore Katelyn Dold (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech HS)

- Concordia beat Northwestern 9-0 in the opening match of the 2010 season on Saturday. The Cobbers lost only five doubles games and then rolled through all six singles matches as they beat the Eagles for the second straight season.

- Cobber senior Amy Freeman (Staples, Minn./Staples-Motley HS) won 6-4, 6-2 at No.3 singles against Northwestern on Saturday and also won in doubles competition. The singles win for Freeman was her 20th career singles win as a member of the CC team.

- Concordia will now head to a warmer climate as they travel to Orlando, Fla. for their annual spring break trip. The Cobbers will play five matches from Feb. 22-27.
