Top Note
Women's Hockey
- Just like Justin Timberlake's ping pong paddle, Cobber sophomore Katelyn Dold (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech HS) is "ooo, ahh" on fire. Dold had three goals and two assists in the Cobbers' weekend sweep over Augsburg. Dold has now had at least one point in nine of the 10 games and has a conference-leading 22 points on the season. Her 22 points is the most by a Cobber player since Katie Jacques had 37 in the 2002-03 season. In conference play Dold has six goals and eight assists for 14 points which also leads the league.
Men's Basketball (8-9/4-8 MIAC - lost to St. Thomas 71-63/
lost to Gustavus 79-72)
- Concordia has lost five straight games and six of the eight games since the first of the year. One of the problems for the Cobbers has been their shooting percentage. CC is 7-1 this season when they have a higher shooting percentage from the floor than their opponent. On the flip side, CC is 1-8 when their foes have a higher shooting percentage. In the eight games since Jan. 1, Concordia is shooting 43.4% from the field while opponents are connecting at a 47.8% clip.
Cobber junior John Fraase (Bismarck, N.D./Bismarck Century HS) is second in the MIAC in rebounding in conference games. Fraase is averaging 10.1 rebounds per game in the team's first 12 league games. He has collected at least 10 rebounds in six of the 12 MIAC contests. Fraase is also 10th in the conference in steals (1.25 spg).
Women's Basketball (12-4/11-2 MIAC - beat St. Thomas 76-57/
beat Gustavus 62-57)
- Concordia earned three conference wins last week and now stands at 11-2 in conference play. The Cobbers are one of three teams tied atop the league standings. The 11 MIAC wins marks the 27th consecutive season that Concordia has won at least 10 games in conference play. That streak is the longest in the MIAC.
- Cobber junior Erica Nord (Wolverton, Minn./Barnesville HS) was named the MIAC Player of the Week on Monday. Nord averaged 18.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.0 steals in the Cobbers' three key MIAC wins this past week. Against St. Thomas she was three assists away from becoming the first Concordia player in program history to record a triple-double. She had 16 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists in CC's 19-point win.

- Concordia starts a six-game road trip to finish off the 2009-10 regular season this weekend when they travel to St. Cloud to take on St. John's in a two-game series on Saturday and Sunday. Concordia entered that weekend with a 4-3-1 mark in conference play, while St. John's was 1-3-2.
