Men's Hockey
- Concordia beat St. Thomas 5-4 on Friday and then tied the Tommies on Saturday 4-4 in overtime. The win on Friday snapped a 12-game skid against St. Thomas in a streak that dated back to the 2002-03 season. The Cobbers came away with three points in the series marking the first time since the 2006-07 campaign that CC has earned more than two points against an MIAC opponent in a two-game series. Concordia is now 3-2-3 in the conference and in third place in the league standings. The nine MIAC points is the most since the 2003-04 season.


Men's Basketball (8-7/4-6 MIAC - lost to St. Mary's 55-71/

lost at St. Olaf 62-70)

- Cobber junior Darrin Olmscheid (Buffalo, Minn.) has been on a scoring tear as of late. He has scored in double figures in seven of the last eight games and currently leads Concordia in scoring with a 14.1 ppg average. He is in the top 12 in the MIAC in scoring (14.1 ppg), field goal percentage (53.1) and offensive rebounds (2.27).

- Concordia has run into a stretch of games where their opponents are shooting the lights out from long range. During the last three games the Cobbers' opponents have hit on a crisp 48.1% (26-for-54) of their shots from behind the arc


Women's Basketball (10-4/9-2 MIAC - beat St. Mary's 46-43/

won at St. Olaf 81-57)

- The Cobbers beat St. Olaf 81-57 on Monday to earn their 10th win of the season. The Cobbers are now 10-4 on the season and have posted double-digit win totals for the past 35 consecutive seasons. It is the longest streak by any women’s team in the MIAC. Concordia is 9-2 in conference play and tied for second place after the first half of the MIAC season.

- Concordia senior women’s basketball player Anna Matetich (Hibbing, Minn.) has become a rebounding force for the Cobbers. She has grabbed at least seven rebounds in five of the last seven games and currently leads the team in rebounding with a 5.2 rpg average. She has also moved up to 12th in the MIAC in rebounding.

- Concordia sophomore forward Jared Collen (Penticton, B.C.) had a hat trick in the Cobbers' Friday night win over St. Thomas he also added an assist on Saturday and now has eight goals and five assists for 13 points on the year. He is currently second on the team in scoring and his eight goals is tied for sixth in the MIAC in goals scored.


Women's Hockey (5-6-0/2-4-0 MIAC - Did Not Play )

- Concordia returns to action after a two-week layoff when they play at Augsburg on Friday and Saturday. The Cobbers and Auggies are tied for seventh place in the league standings and the winner of this weekend's series could vault into playoff contention.


W. Swimming & Diving (Did Not Compete)

- Concordia returns to the pool when they swim in a pair of meets at St. Kate's. The Cobbers will square off against the Wildcats on Friday, Jan. 22 at 6 p.m. in a dual meet and then compete in the St. Kate's Invite on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 8:30 a.m.


Wrestling (11-4 - Competed at the Dickinson State Invite)

National Ranking - 9th in the latest Brute/Adidas National Poll

- Concordia had eight wrestlers finish in the top five at the Dickinson Invitational on Saturday. The Cobbers had three individual weight-class champions and finished second as a team in a meet with top regional NAIA teams. The eight top-five finishes are the most in a multiple-team invite this season.

- Justin Berns (Jr., Perham, Minn.), Justin Horne (Sr., Detroit Lakes, Minn.) and Joe Leacox (Sr., Park Rapids, Minn.) all claimed individual championships at the Dickinson Invite. Berns, who is ranked ninth in the nation, continued his stellar season by going 4-0 at 149. He had two pin falls and one technical fall on his way to the title. Horne and Leacox won championships for the first time in their careers. Horne was 3-0 at 141 with two pin falls and Leacox was 4-0 at 133 and had three major decisions.

- Concordia's home dual meet with #11 St. John's scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. has been postponed until a later date.
