Women's Soccer
- The Cobbers set a Concordia all-school record for most consecutive wins to start a season on Wednesday. Dan Weiler's team beat Hamline 3-0 to earn its 13th straight victory to start 2009. The 13-0 mark tops the 1995 Concordia baseball team which started the season 12-0 and the 2004 CC football team which was 11-0.
Football (2-3/0-3 MIAC - Lost at St. Thomas 31-17)
- Concordia junior defensive back Zach Debeltz (Anoka, Minn.) picked off two more passes for the Cobbers in their 31-17 loss at #15 St. Thomas. He has five INT’s in the team’s first five games. In conference play he has two picks and is tied for second in the league. Nationally, he is currently tied for third in interceptions per game (1.00).
- The Cobbers are currently leading the MIAC in kickoff returns in conference games. CC is averaging 21.8 yards per return on their 16 returns. Cobber senior Jake Uphus (Sauke Centre, Minn.) is second in the league with a 26.4 return average. Uphus had an 82-yard return on the opening kickoff of the game against the Tommies on Saturday.
Volleyball (12-5/5-1 MIAC - beat Carleton 3-2/beat St. Mary's 3-2)
National Ranking - 18th in the latest AVCA National Poll
- Concordia survived a pair of conference scares last weekend by posting two 3-2 wins on their annual MIAC weekend road trip. The Cobbers are now 12-5 on the year and have posted a double-digit win total for the 16th consecutive season.
- Concordia has a pair of players with over 200 kills on the season. Jenna Green (So., Dilworth, Minn./D-G-F HS) has a team-leading 233 winners for the year and fellow sophomore Katie Vohnoutka (Eden Prairie, Minn.) has 211.
Men's Soccer (8-6-0/5-3-0 MIAC - beat Augsburg 1-0/beat Hamline 1-0)
- Concordia beat Hamline 1-0 on Wednesday to earn their fifth straight conference win. It is only the second time in program history the team has won five straight league games. The only other time that happened was back in 1996 when the Cobbers won the MIAC Championship.
- Concordia has now posted four straight shutouts. It is the first time since 2001 they have accomplished that feat. In the six-game winning streak, the Cobbers have allowed just two goals and keeper Mads Schmidt (Rodding, Denmark) has lowered his season goals against average to 1.00.

National Ranking - 14th in the latest NSCAA National Poll

- Concordia is one of only five unbeaten and untied teams in the 414 schools that make up NCAA Division III women’s soccer. Of those five teams, the Cobbers have won the most games at 13-0-0. CC is currently ranked 14th in this week’s National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll which is the highest the team has ever been ranked in the national poll.
- Cobber junior Sam Johnson (Fargo, N.D./Fargo North HS) currently has 15 goals on the season and leads the MIAC in goals scored. She has scored at least one goal in the past six games and has at least one goal in nine of the team's 13 games this year. Johnson is so hot that she has also scored at least two goals in three of the last four games. Johnson also has scored six game-winning goals this season.
Men's Cross Country (did not compete)
- Concordia will host a pair of meets this weekend. On Friday they will entertain other college teams at the Cobber Open held at Johnson Park beginning at 5:15 p.m. On Saturday they will host the annual Cobber Fun Run as part of the annual Homecoming weekend celebration.

Men's Golf (finished 9th at the Twin Cities )
- The Cobbers were led by sophomore Pat Deitz (Moorhead, Minn.) who shot a 70 and was one of nine players tied for medalist honors. For his effort Deitz was named MIAC Tri-Men's Golfer of the Week. It is the second time this season he has won that award.
- Concordia finished ninth at the weather-shortened Twin Cities Classic on Sunday. The Cobbers shot a team total of 300 which was the fourth lowest single round team score of the year.
