Stats The Cobbers (3-1 overall, 1-0 MIAC), last year's conference runner-up, won their third in a row. Miriam Lombardozzi scored in the ninth minute; Morgan Bain tallied in the 18th minute; and Kelly Ping scored in the 38th minute on a corner kick that went untouched into the net. The Tommies (1-4, 0-1) got on the scoreboard when sophomore Krystal Stautz scored in the 67th minute to cut the margin to 3-1. Senior Christine Williams pushed a shot past the charging goalie in the 86th minute to pull the Toms within one. Concordia outshot the Toms 18-12, including a 9-7 edge in corner kicks. Cobber freshman Britt Reiersgord played all 90 minutes in goal and stopped five shots. Tommie freshman Dana Vilar played all 90 minutes and made seven saves. Concordia will host Gustavus on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 3:00pm at the Jake Christiansen Athletic Complex. |
