California Lutheran Game Stats - Now Online!

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- Concordia traveled 1,891 miles to rediscover their secret to success, snap their two-game losing streak and put themselves back on track for an extended run through the playoffs.

The Cobbers got an early goal from junior midfielder Amy Ravenhorst and then a pair of goals from Morgan Bain and cruised to a 4-2 victory over California Lutheran in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

The win gets Concordia back on the winning track and improves their overall mark to 11-3-0. The Regals fall for the first time in five games and has their overall record fall to 6-7-2.

Ravenhorst started the scoring in the first half when she pounced on a loose ball in the Cal. Lutheran penalty area and slotted home her sixth goal of the season at 4:30. Of her six goals on the season, four have come in the opening 10 minutes of the game.

Bain added to the lead at 35:33 when she took a pass from Ellyn Roach and beat the the Regal defense through the middle of the field.

The Cobbers held onto the 2-0 lead at the break and held a 6-4 edge in shots and a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks in the first 45 minutes.

Cal. Lutheran finally got on the board in the 59th minute on a goal from Raechel Carr.

With the game hanging in the balance, Cobber freshman Jenny McGuiggan picked an opportune time to collect her first collegiate goal. She tapped home a misplayed ball from the Regals goalie Diana Molthen and reestablished the ever-important, two-goal advantage for Concordia.

Jordan Bebber volleyed home a shot at 78:40 as the Regals moved into a 3-4-3 formation to try and get back into the game.

Bain then sealed the victory late in the contest when she scored on a classic counterattack. With Cal. Lutheran pushing forward to try and tie the game, Kelly Ping sent Bain free past the regal defense and Bain clinically finished her 14th goal of the year.

Concordia held a 10-7 advantage in total shots for the full 90 minutes. The Cobbers also had a slight 8-6 edge in shots on goal and a 4-3 margin in corner kicks.

Cobber goalie Britt Ringstrom made four saves to post her 11th win of the year. Molthen also stopped four shots in the losing effort.

Concordia will try and sweep their California road trip when they play at Chapman College in Orange, Calif. on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 1:00pm (CST).
