MOORHEAD, Minn.-- It was only fitting that the day Concordia junior Morgan Bain broke the 100-point scoring mark, she did it with all the flash and jaw-dropping awe that she has shown in her first two-plus seasons at Concordia.

She scored three goals and added an assist for good measure on the day and is now at 103 points for her career. She is only the third player in Concordia women's soccer history to reach the 100-point plateau. She will now set her sights on the program's all-time scoring record held by Angela Tohm. Tohm amassed 137 points from 1993-96.

Bain's trio of goals helped the Cobbers handle Bethel 4-0. The win improves Concordia's conference record to 7-0 and ups their overall mark to 10-1. The Cobbers have now won 10 straight which is a program record. Concordia has also won 13 straight conference games, also a program record.

Bain's first hat trick of the season pushes her season total to 11 goals and her career total to 45. She opened the scoring with a nifty one-time shot from in close at 8:19. She then assisted on the Cobbers' second goal when she fed Kelly Ping for her 10th goal of the year at the 19:19 mark. The assist, and her third point of the game, brought her to 99 points for her career.

The wait for 100 was short-lived as Bain delivered in true goalscorer fashion. After taking a pass at the top of the box, she turned and rifled a shot that skimmed the underside of the crossbar and the inside of the post before slingshotting into the back of the net.

With her 100th and 101st point secure, Bain finished off the day in the second half when she bent a shot over the top of the Bethel goalie and under the crossbar to give Concordia a 4-0 lead. Her seven-point game is a season-high and it is the first time this season that she has posted a three-goal game. In her career she has four hat tricks.

The only thing left for the Cobbers was to hold onto the shutout and break the program record for most consecutive minutes without allowing a goal. Concordia entered the game having blanked its last four opponents and amassing a streak of 427:13 without allowing a goal.

Cobber goalie Britt Reiersgord was not tested in the first half. In the second period she was forced to come out and cut down a couple of key scoring chances before they had a chance to develop. She finished the game with three saves to record her 10th win of the year.

With their fifth straight shutout, Concordia has extended its shutout streak to 517:13.

Concordia will put its winning streak and shutout string on the line when they face Augsburg in Minneapolis on Tuesday at 7:30pm. The Auggies have not lost in 2005. They are 6-0-4 overall and 3-0-2 in the MIAC. The Cobbers will the finish off their title-telling week when they host nationally ranked Macalester on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 3:00pm.
