In 2006, he guided Concordia to its first-ever MIAC regular season and playoff tournament titles. The Cobbers finished the season by competing in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. CC ended the year with an outstanding 8-1-2 mark in the MIAC and a 12-6-3 overall mark. Following the 2006 campaign, Concordia had made the conference playoffs for four straight seasons and compiled a gaudy 34-7-3 conference record during that stretch. In overall play, Weiler helped CC post a 41-23-5 mark. The 2005 season saw the Cobbers make the MIAC tournament for the third straight season. The team finished with a 15-4-0 overall mark which set a school record for most wins in a season. In 2004 he led the Cobbers to a runner-up finish in league play and then to a berth in the MIAC tournament championship game. The 2004 Concordia team set program records for most overall games won, most conference games won and highest conference finish. The Cobbers won their first-ever playoff game in 2004 and were at one time ranked in the top 10 of the region. Before taking over as head coach of the women's team, he had been an assistant coach for both the men's and women's soccer programs at Concordia from 1999-2001. In his second season at the helm of the Cobbers in 2003, Weiler guided the team to a berth in the MIAC tournament. Following the team's breakthrough season, he was named the MIAC Coach of the Year. Weiler, a Fargo native, was the head girls' soccer coach at Fargo South High School from 1999-2004. In 1999 he guided the Bruins to the North Dakota State Championship and was also named the North Dakota Coach of the Year. In 2002, he was named a finalist for the national girl's high school coach of the year. Weiler holds a Brazilian (BRUSA) "B" coaching license and a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) "B" license. Weiler earned his bachelor's degree from Moorhead State University in 1996. He currently lives in Moorhead. |
