ST. PAUL, Minn.-- Concordia junior forward Morgan Bain (White Bear Lake, Minn.) was named the MIAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week it was announced by the MIAC league office on Tuesday.

She becomes the second player in as many weeks to earn the award. Last week midfielder Amy Ravenhorst was given the award. It is the first time in 2005 that Bain has won the weekly conference honor and fifth time in her career that she has won player of the week accolades.

Bain scored three goals and added an assist in the Cobbers’ two victories last week. She scored all three goals and added the assist in Concordia’s 4-0 win over Bethel on Saturday. The two victories helped the Cobbers stay on top of the MIAC with an unblemished mark of 7-0-0. Concordia has now won 10 straight games in 2005 and 13 consecutive conference games in a streak that dates back to Sept. 29, 2004.

With the seven points, she becomes only the third player in Concordia women’s soccer to reach the 100-point plateau. Bain, in true goal-scorer fashion, eclipsed the mark by scoring her fourth hat trick of her career and first of the season. She now has 27 points in Concordia’s first 11 games this season and 103 for her career.

She currently leads the MIAC in points (22), points per game (3.14), goals (9) and goals per game (1.40) in conference games this season.
