MOORHEAD, Minn. (10/06/09)-- No-14-ranked Concordia made it rain goals on an overcast day in Moorhead on Tuesday. The Cobbers unleashed a downpour of 10 goals as they beat UW-Superior 10-1. The win is the 11th straight for the Cobbers to start the 2009 season. The 11 wins to start a year is one shy of the Concordia all-school record for best start of a season. The 1995 baseball started the season 12-0 before losing their 13th game against St. John's. Joining Johnson in the scoring parade was freshman Sarah Rounds. Rounds had two goals and three assists for seven points on the day. She entered the day with six points and doubled that total and now has 13 points on the year which is good for third place on the team. The Cobbers received the other four goals from four different players. Megan Rice, Abby Habein, Mikenna Maroney and Killashandra Link all had tallies in the most prolific scoring day of the season. Johnson and habein each scored their second goal of the year while Maroney and Link posted their first goal of the season. For Link it was her first collegiate goal.
