SAUK CENTRE, Minn. -- Concordia freshman Afton Pender shot an 81 in the second round of the Blazer Invite held at the Greystone Golf Course in Sauk Cetre, Minn. and finished in sixth place.

Pender's two-day total of 164 is a season-best, beating her mark of 165 from last weekend's Dragon Invite.

As a team Concordia improved 16 strokes from the opening round to finish in fourth place in the five-team event. The Cobbers struggled on a new course in the opening round and shot a 377. They learned from the first 18 holes and came back to fire a 361 in the final round. All four Concordia golfers improved on their scores from Saturday.

Erin Douglass was the second highest Concordia finisher. She carded rounds of 96 and 90 and finished at 186.

Christie Brink and Sarah Tabery finished in a tie at 194. Brink opened with a 100 and then came back to shoot 94 on day 2. Tabery shot a 98 and then a 96.

The Cobbers will finish off its fall portion of the season when they compete in the MIAC Championship Meet on Oct 7-8 at the Stoneridge Golf Course in Becker, Minn.
