GRAND FORKS, N.D.-- For the second tournament in as many weeks, Concordia saved their best for the second day. At the University of North Dakota Invitational held at the Grand Forks Golf Course, the Cobbers rallied from a sluggish opening round of 363 to fire a season-best 338 in the final round. Concordia finished third in the three-team invite but tied the University of Manitoba with their score on the final day of competition.

All five Concordia players finished in the top 20 of the tournament. Afton Pender continues to be the top Concordia player. At the UND Invite, she finished eighth with a final total of 170 (88-82). She was joined in the top ten by senior Katie Pietsch. Pietsch shot a season-best 171 which included an 83 on the final day.

Sarah Tabery, Erin Douglass and Christie Brink all finished within 10 strokes of one another. Tabery carded a 178 (93-85), while Douglass was four strokes behind at 182 (94-88). Brink had the biggest turnaround from the first day. After struggling in the opening round and shooting 100, she rallied to fire an 88 in the final round.

Concordia will complete their regular season portion of the fall schedule next weekend when they participate in the St. Ben's Invitational at the Greystone Golf Club in Sauk Centre, Minn. on Oct. 1-2. The Cobbers will then compete at the MIAC Championship Meet on Oct. 8-9 at Stoneridge Golf Course in Becker, Minn.
