MOORHEAD, MINN.-- The Concordia women’s golf team shot a season-best team total in the final day of the Dragon Invite and finished second in the three-team event. The Cobbers fired a 340 on the second day and bettered host MSU Moorhead by 17 strokes. Afton Pender continues to lead the way for Concordia. For the third straight meet, the first-year golfer from Cohasset, Minn., was the low Cobber golfer. Pender shot a final round score of 84 after leading the tournament after the opening day with an 81. Her two-day total of 165 placed her in fourth place, only two shots behind second place. After Pender, Christie Brink shot a 178 (91-87), Katie Pietcsh came in with a 182 (95-87) and Sarah Tabery posted a 187 (98-89). Concordia will return to action when they participate in the University of North Dakota Invitational on Sept. 24-25. The Cobbers are gearing up for the MIAC Championship Meet which takes place on Oct. 8-9 at Stoneridge Golf Course in Becker, Minn.
